Pick undergoes surgery
2008 Arkansas quarterback commitment Kale Pick had some bad luck last week, and now he must come back from it.
Pick, 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, was off to a great start in the 2007 season, but it ended quickly. The injury occurred next to the ulnar collateral ligament on the thumb of his throwing hand, a bone fracture. That is actually better because the ligament injury often results in what is known as 'game-keepers thumb' over time, which causes gripping problems because the ligament does not properly heal, according to Jonathan Cluett, M.D. from About.com. However, Pick is still expected to have a 12-week recovery period with the bone fracture. Pick had surgery at 1 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday.
