Allen shares his thoughts on UGA visit

A name that Georgia fans have heard a lot about lately is commitment Dwayne Allen. Allen gave UGA a verbal commitment back in December, but has since visited other schools. He was in Athens this weekend for a visit, and he talks about it here.

"It was a great atmosphere at Georgia on Saturday," said Allen. "Georgia did not come out on top, but the crowd was great, the team played hard and it was a lot of fun. They lost, but I had a great time overall."

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound four star tight end out of Fayetteville (N.C.) had been to Athens before for games in the past, but this time was a little different.

"A lot more people knew my name. A lot of fans were asking me to take pictures with them, they were shaking my hand and they were telling me to come to Georgia. The environment seemed a little more intense than in the past too. The crowd was really loud and everyone was into the game."

"It was nice to be recognized by a lot of people in Athens. It made me feel good. They were all real nice and big supporters of Georgia."

If the fans made him feel nice, then he had to feel pretty nice about riding to the stadium with Head Coach Mark Richt.

"Coach Richt asked me before they left for the stadium if I wanted to ride with him, so I did," Allen said. "Me and a couple of my teammates rode with him over there in a van and it was nice."

"We just talked a little bit on the way, but he was really focused on the game. All the coaches were. It was cool to ride over with him."

The coach Allen is closest to on the Bulldog staff is tight end's coach David Johnson. They spent some time together before the game as well and Allen let him know everything was still looking good for the Dawgs.
