Does Duke commit have interest in UGA?

Duke commitment Matt Daniels visited the UGA over the weekend to see what the home state Bulldogs had to offer. He and his family had a chance to see what the atmosphere was like, they met the head coach, they learned about the academics and more.

"The whole game-day environment was pretty nice at Georgia," said Daniels. "It was my first time there and it was really what I expected. It was a cool atmosphere, the fans were crazy and the stadium was packed with 96,000 people. It was a wild crowd that was very supportive."

Daniels picked up an offer from Georgia after he had already committed to Duke. Since then, Georgia has been recruiting him and the main coach recruiting him for the Bulldogs is defensive coordinator/secondary coach Willie Martinez. They had time to talk before the game on Saturday.

"He just talked to me about the basics that Georgia had to offer and that kind of thing. He talked to me about how he needs safeties and how he would like to have me at Georgia. He told me that they want me and need me there."

Georgia head coach Mark Richt said the same kind of things to Daniels and his family.

"My parents and I went into his office before the game and sat down to talk with him," he said. "He talked to us about the academic program, how the coaches do their jobs, what Georgia's program is all about and things like that."
