Change of plans for McClain

Late last week, Rivals100 offensive tackle Antoine McClain announced he would make his college decision on Monday after taking his second consecutive visit to the University of Alabama campus. Now the nation's No. 12 offensive tackle prospect says his plans have changed.

"I was going to announce tomorrow but I've decided to wait a little while longer. I don't want to get into the reasons but it will give me more time to get into the specifics with my coaches and mom. I don't want to do anything based on emotions," McClain said. "Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee are who I am looking at. I don't have any definite plans now as to when I will announce but I am going to start weighing each school against each other."

McClain said the Crimson Tide's loss to Georgia, which he attended with a number of other top in-state prospects, did not hurt Alabama's chances of landing the 6-foot-6, 317-pound Anniston lineman and that overall he enjoyed his experience.

"It was a great game and I had a lot of fun. It goes to show you that anyone can get beat on any given day. It doesn't hurt Alabama with me at all. It was a great game and that is how it is in the SEC," McClain said. "The crowd was great again. They were loud and they make it a lot of fun to be there. I know all the recruits had fun. That is a great environment."

McClain is the nation's No. 77 overall prospect and is rated the No. 6 overall prospect in the state of Alabama by Rivals.com. He boasts a 320-pound bench max and a 415-pound squat max.
