Mississippi QB makes his choice

Other than a 24-14 setback in its opening game against Armory High School, Fulton (Miss.) Itawamba Agricultural has gotten off to a roaring start to its season. The Indians are 3-1 with back-to-back blowout wins over Houston and Saltillo respectively. Now, Itawamba has something else to hang its hat on as its star quarterback, Bret Jefcoat has made his college commitment.

"Bret has verbally committed to Louisiana Tech," Bret's father said over email. "We've come a long way since our first visit to Gesimar, La. for the Rivals.com junior day."

Jefcoat chose Louisiana Tech over interest from some SEC schools including Mississippi State and Ole Miss where his father, H.Greggory Jefcoat played in college.

As a junior, the 6-foot-1 200-pound Jefcoat, accumulated over 1,700 yards of offense to go with nine rushing and 12 rushing touchdowns.

Jefcoat is rated by Rivals.com as a two-star pro-style quarterback.
