Checking in: Jarvis Humphrey

Cedar Hill defensive tackle Jarvis Humphrey lived every Texas high school football player's dream as a junior playing on an undefeated 5A state championship team. The Texas Longhorn commit is back for more in 2007 as one of the leaders of the south Dallas program that has entered new territory as the hunted program with an X on its back every Friday night. Humphrey sat down with Orangebloods.com on Friday to talk Cedar Hill, the defensive tackle position and his commitment.

How is the season going so far (interview before the upset loss to Arlington Bowie Friday night)?

It's going pretty good right now. We started off kinda slow, but we seemed to catch our rhythm during the North Crowley game.

How would you rate your performance through the first three games?

I really didn't play like I was supposed to in the first two games, but the last one (North Crowley) I thought I showed up.

What do you see the Cedar Hill team needing to improve as the season moves forward?

Right now, just communication. We already have the chemistry and talent. Just communicating on the field and staying focused.
