Hurst not a sleeper
Les Miles and the LSU football program picked up their 17th football commitment for the class of 2008 this weekend when offensive tackle Alex Hurst of Arlington, Tennessee gave his pledge during an unofficial visit.
Hurst has not been written about a great deal when compared to many of the top prospects in the south but his coach believes he is anything but a sleeper prospect.
"I know he thought it through and I am excited for him and his family and for LSU," Arlington head coach Chris Wiley said. "It is pretty special for a kid to sign with a number one team."
LSU running backs coach Larry Porter is recruiting Hurst for the Tiger staff.
"Pretty much everyone has offered," Wiley said. "Everyone is asking me about him having two-stars and I said probably because they don't know about him.
"As far as the universities they all know about him. We sent film to them but I didn't send film to you guys (Rivals.com) honestly because I didn't think about, but he is way above a two-star recruit."
