GoPowercat Q&A: Josh Freeman
Being one of the faces of Kansas State football is a full-time job, so, quarterback Josh Freeman rarely has a minute to himself. However, the second-year Wildcat signal caller found some time to chat with GoPowercat.com on Monday, when it caught up with the sophomore for a chat about his verbal commitment to Nebraska, his relationship with Coach Ron Prince and a host of other topics.
Now that you're in your second year, does it feel good to have escaped everything that comes with being a freshman?
Not really. Everybody was pretty cool. Around here, nobody does freshman orientation or hazing. Nobody does that. We just want to get our freshman up to speed as soon as possible because we know they might be able to help the team.
That wasn't the answer I was expecting. Did any veteran players take you under their wing when you got here?
Dylan Meier and Thomas Clayton.
Do you still talk to them?
Yeah, I talk to Dylan a lot, but it's more through e-mails, because he's overseas playing football (in Germany).
What about your relationship with Ron Prince? I know you guys really hit it off during his recruiting visits. How close are the two of you?
We're close. He's the head coach. He's the guy that got me here, and I have a great respect for him. I feel like he has a lot of confidence in me, because he lets me run the offense. He is the guy who got me here.
