Bulls continue to build future defensive line

USF has continued to make important recruiting headway in an area of need with the recent commitments of defensive linemen Anthony Mains and Corey Grissom.

With five seniors potentially moving on following the 2007 campaign - end Jarriett Buie will have an opportunity to regain a season of eligibility - the Bulls have made bulking up their defensive line a priority. Four prep prospects are already committed and more remain in the mix.

Mains, from Golden Gate High in Naples, was the latest to join the group, making his pledge to USF coaches following an all-day unofficial visit on Monday. A late-bloomer, Mains stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 221 pounds. And although he's only in his second season as a varsity starter at defensive end, Mains' stock continues to rise.
