Gophers lock down Tinsley
Gopher head coach Tim Brewster made it very clear on his Sunday morning radio show that he will work hard to bring Minnesota fans a championship level defense. On Sunday night Brewster took one step closer to that promise when he received a verbal pledge from Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast three-star linebacker Gary Tinsley.
Heading into his official visit to Minnesota, Tinsley knew Minnesota was going to be the place. It took a two weeks but the three-star linebacker finally pulled the trigger.
Gopher Nation can credit the recruiting efforts of head coach Tim Brewster for landing the 38th best linebacker in the nation. It was Brewster's charisma and personality that helped get Tinsley fired up about Minnesota.
Tinsley indicated that he ultimately selected Minnesota over an offer from Arkansas and strong interest from Illinois and South Carolina.
