Recruiting notebook

Perhaps it's no coincidence that the atmosphere that's steadily building around the Temple football program has translated into some recruiting success stories for the Owls.

Just before Temple's 16-15 Homecoming win over Northern Illinois, Northeast Catholic High School defensive end Shahid Paulhill committed to the Owls as he took in the pregame festivities.

While at Lincoln Financial Field, Paulhill met Lawrence Turner, a linebacker from Heritage High School in Virginia. Four days after they met at the Linc, Turner followed Paulhill's lead and verbally accepted a scholarship offer from Temple head coach Al Golden to play for the Owls next season.

A week later, after hearing of Temple's second consecutive come-from-behind victory, Pat Boyle and Sean Boyle, twin brothers who play on the offensive line at Baltimore's Calvert Hall High School, felt the time was right to end their recruitment, and they, too, decided to commit to the Owls.
