Virginia Tech is closely monitoring a number of defensive ends in the 2008 recruiting class. A few are beginning to pop up on the Hokies radar recently including at least one out of the Northeast.
"Out of high school I had offers from everywhere and I picked South Carolina," Garden City (N.Y.) Nassau C.C. defensive end Shea McKeen said. "Now that I'm back out there schools are calling me and a lot of them are saying I have an offer, they just want to see my transcript first. Lots of them are also trying to get me to set up visit dates, but I'm pushing all that stuff after the season.
"Last time I went through the process I let it get too hectic. I want to do it the right way and take it slow this time around. A lot should happen in the next few weeks, the season ends early in November."
