Guillory ready to see ISU in person

Beaumont (Tex.) defensive lineman Doran Guillory is headed to Iowa State this weekend for his first official visit. The 6-foot-3, 265-pounder from Kelly High School is going to give ISU a very close look while in town, from football to academics to every thing in between.

Guillory has picked up scholarship offers from ISU, Houston, Louisiana Tech and UTEP and is getting phone calls this fall from Oklahoma State and TCU, among others. Iowa State's prowess in Guillory's intended field of study could give the Cyclones the edge for his commitment.

"I just like their school overall, especially the great engineering department," Guillory said. "I know it's a good football program, too, I've been studying up on it a little bit."
