Loftley enjoying great season

Chamblee (Ga.) defensive lineman Taylor Loftley is enjoying a great senior campaign and has his team in the hunt for a state title.

"We're doing really good right now," Loftley said. "We're 7-0. We've got a big game this week against Westminster that's probably going to decide the region champs. It's just a big week for us, and on top of that, it's homecoming week, so it's exciting. I'm playing really good. This year I changed to defensive end. Last year I played D-tackle. I think I'm playing good…playing like the coaches want me to. Basically, doing what I need to do to help us win."

Although focused on competing for a state championship, the 6-foot-2, 250 pound Loftley is still finding time to think about his future.

"Vanderbilt and South Carolina are coming at me the hardest right now," he said. "I'm still trying to keep my options open and look at all of my schools, but probably the ones that I'm most interested in are Vanderbilt, South Carolina, UCF, and I'm still talking to Duke a lot. The ones that probably stick out the most to me just because I've had the most contact with them are Vanderbilt and South Carolina."
