Stansbury, Gordon, and Rhodes address the media

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - On the second and final day of SEC Media Days in Birmingham, Rick Stansbury, Jamont Gordon and Charles Rhodes arrived at the Marriott Hotel a confident bunch. Following a season in which the Bulldogs were picked to finish near or at the bottom of their division, Mississippi State won nine of it's final 13 games last season to help capture a share of West title. So today, as they filed into the main media room to address hordes of local and national reporters, they did so with a quiet confidence that was easy to pick up on.

"We found a way last year with a team picked fourth or fifth in the league to win the West and we made a good run in the NIT," said Stansbury. "I thought down the stretch, we were playing as well as anybody."

"It wasn't just we got some wins, it was how we got some of those wins down that stretch," added Stansbury. "Our team gained a lot of confidence from that."
