Pack picks up a commitment

NC State picked up verbal commitment from No. 13 Thursday morning.

Safety Roy Mangram from Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Ga., said he pulled the trigger for the Pack.

"They'd be a good place for me to go," Mangram said. "I told Coach [Andy] McCollum, and he said he was going to go tell the rest of the coaches. He was excited."

Mangram has 42 solo tackles from his free safety spot, second highest on the team. Glynn Academy is 5-2 overall battling for a playoff spot.

"He's a big-time talent and a heck of a person," Glynn Academy head coach Rob Ridings said. "The offer has been on the table for three or four months now. He's had offers from South Carolina, Clemson and Troy State.
