Hall talks Louisville visit
St. Augustine H.S. (Fla.) safety Rashard Hall is back home after visiting Louisville as an official visitor this weekend. Cardinalsports.com spoke to the 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect after he returned home to find out more about his trip...
"I really enjoyed myself this weekend. I had a lot of fun," Hall said late Sunday evening.
He was hosted by redshirt freshman Brandon Heath, but also met with a large contingent of players he was already familiar with. "I was chilling with Josh Miller," Hall reported. "We're real cool, and I've been playing against him since my freshman year. Terrance Butler is a close friend of my family. I've known him since he played down here. His uncle is a best friend of my father."
What was his favorite part of the visit? "I had a lot of favorite parts," he answered. "Everyting I wanted to see I saw, so I was happy with that. I got to talk to Coach (Steve) K(ragthorpe) a lot and Coach (Mike) Mallory. I got to hang out with a lot of the players. I met with the business advisor Sunday morning and the athletic advisor, too. Overall it was a good trip."
After taking in Louisville's 24-17 victory over Pitt, Hall was able to eat dinner with members of the coaching staff before heading out for an evening of hanging out with his host and other players.
The meetings with the coaches made him aware of where they see him fitting in on the field. "There is room for early playing time," Hall remarked. "The coaches went through the depth chart and told me who was leaving and who was coming back. They think I can come in and play early if I come in there and work hard."
The off-the-field activities were impressive, according to Hall. "The dorms are real nice. We got to check them out. The campus is real close. We went downtown. The city is a nice city. Every place we went was real nice," he said.
Where does Louisville stand after the trip? "They stand strong at the top," Hall answered. "That's my only official that I have taken. I guess you could say they are leading right now because I have actually been there. I'll have to go on some other visits and then we'll see what will happen with that after the season."
Hall is also considering Maryland, Clemson, Mississippi State, and Ball State.
