Creek Speaks - Part I
October 30, 2007 - Last month's Crab City Fall Classic provided this writer a golden opportunity to secure interviews with a plethora of Georgetown recruiting targets. Luckily, Oxon Hill, MD's Maurice Creek was one, as the six foot three inch, Class of 2009 guard was soon thereafter traveling to South Kent School where he would enroll (a move first reported by HoyaReport.com in Creek has left Maryland for South Kent, but delayed for personal reasons).
During Crab City Fall Classic action, Creek once again distinguished himself by providing an all-court impact. In doing so, Maurice or 'Mo', helped his travel team, Triple Threat, take home the event's title.
Being able to help win a game by not only shooting - last season at Oxon Hill High School (MD), Creek averaged over 27 points a game, many scored from the perimeter - but also driving, passing, rebounding, and defending, has been Mo's wont all spring/summer with Triple Threat. In doing so, Creek played an instrumental role in that organization's 17 and under team's success, which included tourney titles in the Charlie Weber Easter Hoop Fest, along with the DC Metro Showcase and Main Event Super Pool, plus the aforementioned Crab City Fall Classic.
