Jones Waiting on More Offers

The fall semester is usually a busy one, especially if you are a top football prospect such as Otis Jones of Leuzinger High School in Lawndale (CA). Jones is a 6-foot 252-pound defensive end for the Leuzinger Olympians football squad. We caught up with big Otis to talk about his busy season so far including the latest in his recruiting.

Jones has been on one official visit so far to Iowa St. and he talked about how the visit went, "I've been to Iowa St. last month. It was nice there, the coaches were really excited to meet with me and I can tell that football is really big there."

With the playoffs coming up, Jones has postponed any visits until December. "I don't think it would be fair to my team if I was traveling to all these places. I'm focused on our team and finishing what we've been planning all year." According to Jones, he plans on visiting Fresno St. and Arizona as soon as his season is complete.

While Jones has heard from a dozen or so schools including scholarship offers from Iowa St. and Colorado, a few west coast teams remain at the top of Jones' list. Specifically, those teams are Washington, Oregon and UCLA.
