Salubi, Lions right on track

In 2006 the Waco Lions plowed through the competition on their way to the 4A Div. II State Championship Game. It was the first time in quite some time the Lions achieved that feat, and after a quick start it appeared the Lions could be headed for a nice day in the AlamoDome. But a title was not to be had.

However, the experience made the returning members of the 2007 squad hungry and they entered the season with some lofty goals. At 7-1 the Lions appear to be right on track.

"I think we're real close to reaching all of our goals that we wish to fulfill," said Waco running back and Baylor commitment Jarred Salubi. "Like last year we took it all the way to the state championship, and our main goal is to get back there and win."
