While there are still three months until National Signing Day it's not too early to start thinking about the current junior class. One of the top 2009 prospects in the state of Louisiana is athlete D.J. Banks. Two SEC programs are at the top of his early list.
Banks, a 5-foot-10, 177-pound versatile athlete from West Monroe, La., has a rare physical skill set. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds and bench presses 355 pounds. That's tremendous strength for a prospect his age and size.
"I'm just really strong," Banks explained. "I started lifting when I was in the seventh grade and some of it is that I'm just strong naturally. I have a strong upper body and lower body. I know it's tough for a lot of guys to try to bring me down. I'm a physical player. I like to stiff arm and I like all the contact."
