November 11, 2007 MVPs

Saturday in Norman, Okla., the Bears were not considered much of a threat at the opening kickoff but that changed quickly as the Bears used a couple of big runs by Brandon Whitaker to catch the attention of everyone inside Memorial Stadium.

The Sooners pulled away for a 52-21 win over Baylor, but there were some standout performances on the field for the guys in green and gold. The offense clicked in a way that hasn't been seen since the Bears handed Rice a 42-17 loss in game 2 of the season.

The defense on the other hand had their hands full with the OU offense and Sam Bradford took advantage of solid protection to find open receivers throughout the night. DeMarco Murray, Manuel Johnson, and Malcolm Kelly each had big plays on the night, as they found their way into the endzone.

Baylor fought hard to the end and now we take a moment to recognize the MVPs.

Brandon Whitaker

In his final game in Norman senior running back Brandon Whitaker, an Edmund, Okla. native didn't waste anytime setting the tone with a huge first half. He put the Bears in position to put the first 14 points on the board, and while they only got seven his efforts were not in vein.
