Ole Miss, Alabama fighting for LA RB
With the departure of 1,000-yard rusher BenJarvus Green-Ellis and capable back-up Bruce Hall, Ole Miss is in the market for a couple of running backs for the 2008 signing class.
The Rebels currently have a commitment from Tupelo, Miss. star Kenneth Davis, but is having to fight off a push from Alabama for Davis' services.
Ole Miss is also in a battle with Alabama for another running back.
Brandon Bolden, a 5-foot-11, 208 running back from Baton Rouge (Scotlandville HS) has Ole Miss and Alabama in a dead heat for his services.
"They are about the same," Bolden said Sunday evening. "They both are recruiting me about the same. They both are sending me a lot of letters from the coaches and are calling every Monday."
Bolden, who figures to play running back in college but has played every thing from running back to linebacker and safety to kicker in high school, says that the opportunity for playing time will be his biggest consideration when he does make a decision.
"I'll probably decide some time in December," Bolden said. "I'm visiting Ole Miss the weekend of Nov. 30 and then making an official trip to Alabama some time in early December."
