Brown remains solid in his commitment to UVa
Macon (Ga.) Northeast wide receiver Javaris Brown (5-foot-11, 178 pounds, 4.4 seconds) seemingly came out of nowhere when he committed to Virginia in late June.
The wideout was virtually unknown even after posting a 1,000-yard, double-digit touchdown junior year.
After he committed to UVa, several schools came in hoping to get him to rethink his commitment.
It didn't happen however.
"I love Virginia," said Brown. "I went up there for my official visit last month for the UConn game. It was a great experience for me and I knew that my decision was for the best."
Brown was hosted by freshman wide receiver Jared Green.
"Jared was really cool. I didn't know his dad was Darrell Green. He introduced me to him after the game and I was blown away. That was real cool. Jared was a great host. We had a real good time."
On the visit, Brown also met two of Virginia's other committed players; cornerback Devin Wallace and running back Torrey Mack.
"They were both good guys. Devin was on his official visit that weekend, too, so I hung out with him a lot. Torrey came down for the game so it was cool to meet him as well. I think we have a great class so far. I think we are going to finish up strong."
