Cyclones go first on fast JUCO WR
There's a speedy junior college receiver emerging as a legitimate Division I-A prospect and Iowa State has taken the lead in trying to secure his services for the future. The Cyclones are the first to make a scholarship offer and an official visit is pending with ISU aggressively looking to get a commitment. But a number of coaching staffs are reviewing film so additional offers may be just a matter of time.
Jason Carlson is a 6-foot-0, 195-pound receiver at North Dakota State College of Science. The Plymouth (Minn.) native was a non-qualifier out of Armstrong High School in 2006 and spent a year on the sidelines at NDSCS will a back ailment.
Other schools that have received a highlight reel on Carlson include Purdue, Louisville, Arkansas, Kansas State, Auburn, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and USC. Nobody sprang into action faster than ISU.
