The hallmark of college students is persistence with perhaps a pinch of insomnia tossed in for luck. The persistence portion of that duo paid off recently for former Wisconsin students Caitlin Cieslik-Miskimen and Connor McKnight.
McKnight was the sports editor and Cieslik-Miskimen the copy chief of Badgers' student newspaper, The Daily Cardinal last year. With their stint nearly up and the time to begin looking for real gigs rapidly approaching, Cieslik-Miskimen began scanning online employment opportunities and just happened to come across a promotion run by CSTV called Going West. The trip began in Boulder, Colorado, on August 30 and is scheduled to end on December 1 in Los Angeles. Cieslik-Miskimen had never been west of the Mississippi and McKnight had only been to Las Vegas - but not for the reason you may be thinking.
"It was a long time ago and it we went on a rafting trip down the Colorado River and went to Vegas," say McKnight.
McKnight returned to Vegas this year for the Badgers' game against UNLV and while Wisconsin and Madison have a well-deserved reputation for tailgating, McKnight found himself awed by the UNLV spread.
