Tipoti talks official visit to Tucson

One of Arizona's two official visitors from the state of Hawaii this weekend - along with defensive tackle Solomon Koehler - was 6-foot-3, 250-pound Honolulu Word of Life Academy defensive lineman Aaron Tipoti.

The UA has been strong on Tipoti's list for a while, and on Thursday he finally made the trip to Tucson to see the Wildcats take on Oregon.

It was a game that saw the UA upset the 2nd ranked Ducks on national television, and Tipoti enjoyed seeing the big win in person.

"It was a big upset," he said. "They never gave up. When (Dennis) Dixon got that touchdown, it never seemed to affect the team. The defense kept pounding away and the offense stayed aggressive."

Tipoti not only observed what was happening on the field, but he also had an eye on the sidelines as well.

"For me it was about seeing how the coaches are, their style of coaching and how they are as people," Tipoti said. "I enjoyed how they coach; they really push them and never give up. I think that is why they came out on top."

The coach that Tipoti knows best on Arizona is his lead recruiter, Mike Tuiasosopo. The two formed a good relationship early in the process.
