New team in mix for Thomas

Mobile (Ala.) Murphy three-star outside linebacker Jacoby Thomas has been focused on three schools since early August, and each of them are still very much in the mix at this point in the process. However, a fourth team has entered the fold and begun showing interest as well.

"It's pretty much the same as far as recruiting or what not," said Thomas. "Arkansas has started talking to me more. They haven't offered yet. It's still pretty much the same, South Carolina, Alabama, and Purdue."

Growing up in the state of Alabama, Thomas has visited Tuscaloosa on several occasions and hopes to see each of the other three schools sometime in the near future.

"I'm thinking about (setting up visits with) Purdue and South Carolina," he said. "I've been to Alabama. I'll probably go (on a visit) to Arkansas. I think they're (Arkansas) pretty good. Watching them play, I think they're pretty good."

Playing middle backer in his team's 3-3-5 scheme, the 6-foot, 212-pound Thomas had the opportunity to make a lot of plays this season.
