Chestang happy to be a Rebel

Ole Miss most recent commitment comes from an in state prospect who attended the Rebels camp over the summer.

Moss Point's speedy linebacker Josh Chestang makes pledge No. 22 for the Rebels 2008 recruiting class, giving Ole Miss another prospect at a need area.

"They need speed on defense and I have that speed," Chestang said recently. "I know I can feel comfortable in that quality environment. I love how friendly everyone was and the game day atmosphere was incredible."

Chestang attended last Saturday's game with LSU and decided after the game to pull the trigger and commit to the Rebels.

"It was a great game," Chestang said. "I loved how they competed and didn't quit. I just wished they would have come up with the win and the upset. I can see myself being an Ole Miss Rebel."

Chestang was clocked at 4.4-seconds in the 40-yard dash at LSU, and is also a member of the Moss Point track team. He also boasts a 32-inch vertical leap. As a junior he made the all-area team after recording 58 tackles, 12 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, and one touchdown. As a senior he has turned in as impressive numbers, collecting over 65 tackles, 9 sacks and four forced fumbles to lead Moss Point to an 11-1 record and another state playoff appearance.
