La Canada center high on the Pac-10

The early signing period for the Class of 2009 is still 12 months away, but Anthony Stover is already starting to draw heavy recruiting interest from a number of programs.

The 6-foot-10, 210-pound center from La Canada (Calif.) Renaissance Academy currently holds scholarship offers from Washington State and Pepperdine.

"Arizona State, Stanford and USC are also showing interest," he said. "I like those three, Washington State and also Washington, Arizona and UCLA. I have a lot of interest in pretty much the whole Pac-10."

What does Stover like about the Cougars? "I don't know, Washington State just seems like a really good school," he said. "I might be able to fit in there at Washington State."

Stover has already taken unofficial visits to Arizona State, Cal, Pepperdine, Santa Clara and the University of San Diego.

"I loved both of those schools," Stover said when asked about his trips to Arizona State and Cal. "I was walking around the campus and both teams look pretty good this season."
