Cyclones getting visit from fast WR

It's a big official visits recruiting weekend for Iowa State with around a dozen prospects expected in Ames. Among the notable visitors is Wahpeton (N.D.) North Dakota State College of Science wide receiver Jason Carlson, a late blooming JUCO prospect that caught the attention of ISU and several other schools with his play this fall.

Carlson, a 6-foot-0, 195-pound native of the Twin Cities area, is verified as a visitor this weekend according to NDSCS coach Mike Shafer.

"Things are going pretty good for Jason and he'll be down in Ames this weekend to visit, for his official visit to Iowa State," Coach Shafer said Thursday. "His plane leaves here at 1 o'clock tomorrow, I think. Coach (Jeff) Koonz was just here this morning so we hung out with him for a little while."

According to Shafer, three other schools are continuing to show the strongest interest in Carlson along with Iowa State.
