Will King get the royal treatment from I-State?
Iowa State will get the first official visit from a three-star offensive tackle from Oklahoma City. But the Cyclones may be playing from the runner-up position in trying to secure a commitment from Putnam City North's Joe King. He's taking his official visit to ISU this weekend, here's an update on where things stand for King and which school is the one to beat.
The 6-foot-6, 305-pound King received his first scholarship offer from I-State in early November. Since then, Texas Tech has followed suit with an offer and he's also in regular contact with Oklahoma State. When asked about a favorite, King gave a slight edge to a Big 12 South school.
"I like Texas Tech," King said. "But I'm still open, I have not made up my mind. I'm visiting Iowa State first, that is this weekend, and then I am going to Texas Tech next weekend. I'm talking to Oklahoma State a little bit and Tulsa also came by to see me at school. I'll probably decide after I take all the visits I'm going to take, I'm not sure if it will be just these two or not. Right now that is all I have, though."
