Virginia Tech received visits from three uncommitted prospects over the weekend. One of those was Wilmington (N.C.) New Hanover offensive tackle Nick Becton. Hokiehaven.com caught up briefly with the 6-foot-6, 285-pounder to give his thoughts on the visit and what's next.

"I had a good time on my visit there," he said. "I enjoyed eating out on campus and I got to hang out with some of the freshmen. I was hosted by Jason Worilds. He was a good guy.

"I also went around the campus and met with some of the business professors. I got to talk to Frank Beamer and the rest of the coaches too."

Virginia Tech is looking at the three-star prospect as a defensive tackle.

Where does Tech stand following the trip?

"I can't compare the NC State and Virginia Tech visits," he said. "Both of them were really good."

At this point, Becton appears to be down to two schools due to an invitation to the Shrine Bowl this week which has cancelled his third and possible final official to Penn State.

"I definitely would like to take three official visits, but I don't know if I'll go," he said. "I might make a decision pretty soon. I really don't know when it may happen."

Pressed if it could be before the New Year, Becton wasn't sure.
