JUCO defensive tackle to visit Louisville

Tyler Jessen hopes to bring the attitude of a national champion to whichever school he decides upon, and that is looking like it could be Louisville. The 6-foot-2, 295-pound defensive tackle will visit UofL this coming weekend, and he shared his thoughts on the Cardinals with

The Butler County C.C. (El Dorado, Kansas) prospect is looking forward to his next trip. He said he set the trip up last week after picking up some big news from UofL. "I set it up on Wednesday or Thursday. They offered me on Saturday," he said, adding that the offer came from the Cardinals' line coach, Mark Nelson. "He said that they watched my film and really liked what I was doing and he would like for me to come down there and visit and see how the campus was."

Nelson made a favorable impression on Jessen, a player who also has interest from Troy, UAB, Marshall, Kansas State and Oklahoma State. "He seems like a cool guy and a good guy and coach," Jessen said. "I'd like to play for him."

Jessen visited Troy this past weekend. "It's not as big a name as Louisville but I liked what they have going on," he commented.

A player who will join his next program in January and be immediately eligible, Jessen said there is a lot to like with the Cardinals. "From what I've seen and heard I just like the program. Their defense kind of struggled this year, and I'd like to help them out. I'd like to help them build on the tradition that they have there," he said.

The two-star prospect had 90 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 13 tackles for loss Butler County this season.
