Buffs extend offer to Florida speedster
The recruiting trips have been put on hold for Philip Pierre-Louis, as he and his Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas teammates have made a deep run in the 5A state playoffs.
They will play Osceola in the championship game at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando on Friday.
Pierre-Louis has hauled in 47 passes for 574 yards and eight touchdowns so far this season. He has also returned four punts for a score.
On the recruiting front, Pierre-Louis has already taken official visits to Syracuse and Mississippi State and he is set to check out Auburn the weekend of January 11th.
What stood out to him about his first two trips?
"Just the different atmospheres at the two schools," Pierre-Louis said. "I went to Mississippi State when they played Alabama. They were big underdogs and they won the game. It was a big game for them so they had a real big crowd."
In addition to the aforementioned programs, Pierre-Louis has picked up scholarship offers from Colorado, Iowa State, Central Michigan, Florida International and Western Michigan.
"They actually offered me last week," Pierre-Louis said when asked about the Buffaloes. "I just talked to their coaching staff for the first time. I talked to Coach Greg Brown, their secondary coach. He said that they are really in desperate need of a return man and that I could come in and possibly start my freshman year."
Pierre-Louis said that he will likely take all five official visits before reaching a final decision.
