Florida WR visits Iowa

Florida wide receiver Josh Gehres made his first official visit this past weekend with a trip to the University of Iowa. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Gehres, who attends Tallahassee Lincoln High School, spent two days in Iowa City touring the facilities, academic building, and meeting with the coaches. Gehres' host on his official visit was linebacker Troy Johnson, who is also a Florida native.

As a senior, Gehres put up huge numbers for Tallahassee Lincoln, averaging over 38 yards a catch in racking up 1,110 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

Gehres, who runs a 4.53 forty, also has scholarship offers from Memphis, Michigan State, and Iowa State, along with Iowa. He is also hearing from nearby Florida State, who has not yet offered. Currently, the two-star prospect plans to wait and make his decision in January.

Gehres will be in Central Florida this week practicing for the upcoming North-South All-Star Classic in Florida.
