Reynolds picks BC
Eric Reynolds took an official visit to Boston College last weekend. A few days later, the running back from Warrington (Pa.) Central Bucks South verbally committed to the Eagles.
ird-and-6, and we gave him the ball because he was the most effective way of getting the first down."
UConn, Temple, Bowling Green, Toledo and others were interested. Rivals.com rates Reynolds as the No. 40 prospect in the Pennsylvania top 40 of 2008. He has been timed at 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash and lists his bench max as 325 pounds and squat max as 530.
Reynolds said before his decision that depth chart issues would not play a major factor in his college choice and that he's not hesitant to compete for playing time.
Boston College has now received verbal commitments from Reynolds, Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly recruit Josh Haden and Everett (Mass.) prospect Isaac Johnson at running back. Haden is rated as the third-best all-purpose back nationally. Johnson is the No. 1 player in the Massachusetts top 10 of 2008.
The Eagles are also involved with Virginia Tech for the services of Manassas (Va.) Stonewall Jackson's Ryan Williams, a four-star recruit who is ranked No. 3 among running backs by Rivals.com.
"He's an all-around back," Szarko said. "He catches the ball very well out of the backfield. He's versatile because he can catch the ball. I know in BC's offense they are a pro-style kind of offense. They'll use their tailbacks a lot in the pass game. That suits him and his running style. It will be a good fit based on his strengths and what they try to do in their offense."
