A&M arrives at Alamodome on Christmas Day

Texas A&M didn't get a normal Christmas with the Alamo Bowl just a few days away. The Aggies reported to San Antonio Tuesday despite it being Christmas, but with the Aggies heading to San Antonio individually most were able to spend time with family before making the trek.

Tuesday, however, the Aggies got another surprise as they moved practice from Trinity University, which will be the practice site for the Aggies the rest of the week, to the Alamodome. That, according to interim head coach Gary Darnell was a great Christmas gift that dropped perfectly beneath A&M's tree.

"(Practicing at the Alamodome) was really important because two years ago when we played Army in here we really had a rough time as far as our footing. We weren't adjusted," Darnell said. "I remember the first play of the game two years ago we missed six tackles on the first play of the game and guys were slipping around. It became very important for us, somehow, someway, to get in here and practice today to make sure we're adjusted to the surface that we're playing in."

Tuesday was the only day the Aggies would be able to move inside the Alamo Dome because Wednesday the field will be painted at 10 a.m. After that, the next time anyone will be allowed to play on the Alamodome's turf will be at kickoff Saturday evening.
