Kelso lineman looking at two
Colin Kelly put together an impressive senior season, earning him first-team all-league honors. The 6-foot-6, 260-pound lineman from Kelso (Wash.) High has also been rewarded by picking up two Division-1 scholarship offers.
"Both Washington State and Oregon State have offered me full ride scholarships," he explained. "They both want me to greyshirt and then come in and play offensive tackle."
Kelly took his first official visit to Washington State last weekend. It was his first time visiting Pullman.
"I got there about one o'clock on Friday and we went and ate and they showed us around the football offices and the football field," Kelly said when asked to recap his trip. "They have all sorts of different facilities. I got a chance to meet all of the coaches the first day on Friday. Marshall [Lobbestael] was my player host for the weekend.
"On Saturday, they took us around and showed us the recreation center and then the practice bubble. We got to talk to academic advisors and meet with the coaches again. I liked how everything - the football coaches' office, the workout area, the football field and the practice facilities - are really close. That was one of the things that really stood out to me."
Kelly is scheduled to take an official visit to Oregon State before making a final decision.
"Since OSU is a little bit close to home, I went to a couple of their football games this fall," he said. "Their coaching staff is nice, they treated me really good. I actually just talked to Coach Danny Langsdorf today and he said he is going to come to my basketball game on Thursday."
