Tampa receiver sets Iowa visit

After catching 75 passes for 1,686 yards and 18 touchdowns this past season, Tampa wide receiver Derek Winter has seen his stock steadily rise. This past weekend, the 6-foot-0, 178-pound Winter made his first official visit with a trip to Auburn and plans to head to Iowa next.

Winter currently holds scholarship offers from South Florida and Army, and is also hearing from Georgia Tech, where he may visit on February 1, along with Auburn and Iowa

Following his senior season, in which he helped Tampa Plant High School to an 11-2 record, Winter was named first team all-state and also received the Guy Toph Award as the top player in Hillsborough County. The wide receiver finished his high school career with 192 catches for 3,717 yards and 44 touchdowns.
