Boynton drops 40 in front of Duke

The Duke basketball coaching staff has strong hopes that 2009 Rivals150 member Kenny Boynton will announce the Blue Devils as the last team standing when his recruitment comes to a close later this year. If that hope becomes a reality, then a major reason for it will be the assertive approach that the staff has taken to his recruitment.

With head coach Mike Krzyzewski and assistant Chris Collins both heavily involved with the 6-foot-2, 170 pound five-star recruit, the Blue Devils have made sure he knows how badly he is wanted in Durham, N.C.

On Friday, Collins headed south for Ft. Lauderdale to watch Boynton in action against Pine Crest School and 2010 target Brandon Knight. Though American Heritage dropped its seventh game of the season that night, it certainly wasn't because of Boynton's play, as the junior netted 40 of his team's 70 points, outscoring Knight who posted 34.
