Georgia OL talks about visit to Ole Miss

Ole Miss is apparently still looking for a few good men for help on the offensive line.

Lithonia's Martin Luther King's Aaron Hawkins took an official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend, coming away from Oxford impressed.

"It was great," Hawkins said. "It went well. I loved the facilities and I liked the coaches a lot."

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive lineman currently holds official offers from Ole Miss and Troy. Hawkins declined to name a favorite.

"Right now I'm wide open," Hawkins said. "I'm not sure when I will make my final decision."

Hawkins did admit that Ole Miss was bigger than Troy, but the Alabama school is much closer to home. He also stated that he has no other visits scheduled.

"Right now it's between Ole Miss and Troy," Hawkins said. "I had a great time at both places. It's going to be a hard decision."

Hawkins was impressed with how close the team seemed with the new coaching staff.

"You can tell the players are very excited about playing for Houston Nutt," Hawkins said. "They seem very excited about the direction of the program is headed."

Hawkins earned All-Region and All-State honors this past season. He has already qualified academically with a 1200 on the SAT and a 3.2 GPA.
