Big receiver favors Georgia

The state of Georgia is not known for producing top receivers in recent years when talking recruiting, but they had a strong group in 2008 and it looks like another solid year in 2009. The Peach State has a number of division one players at this position in the junior class and one of the best is Michael Bowman.

"I had a pretty good season this year," said Bowman. "We threw the ball a lot more this year and I finished with 27 receptions for 722 yards and 13 touchdowns. I only had 4 touchdowns last year, so I am glad we threw it more."

This 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver out of Rossville (Ga.) - Ridgeland is getting a lot of early looks.

"Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma State, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Miami, Vanderbilt and Florida send me a lot of letters. I get a lot of mail every day."

A couple of schools have already been out to see him play basketball this season. That was his first love, but he is now focusing on football for his future.
