Recruiting kicks off for Lechner

Omaha (NE) Creighton Prep tackle Jon Lechner has started his recruiting off strong with interest from several schools. He said that it's been fun so far as his recruitment has kicked off.

Lechner said the best way for him to find out how schools felt about him was to get out to some of the early junior days. He said that he had offers to get to several different junior days, but to this point, had only been able to attend a handful of his invitations.

Lechner said things were early in recruiting so he wasn't worried about what schools had offered at this point, but he did say that he had ben told that if he was able to make a few camps, things might change.

Lechner said one school he thought he might be hearing from more in the near future was the Missouri Tigers. He hoped that in the very near future he would be able to check out Columbia.

Lechner said the next few months will be busy for him in recruiting, but he thinks that it could end up being very productive for him in the end.

All the attention for Lechner has been coming after a very successful junior season on the field for Creighton Prep. He hoped he could have the same success this upcoming spring as he prepared for his spring track season.

For now, Lechner will just work on reading the letters that arrive and start to figure out where schools sit in his eyes. He said that he hopes to find just the right fit for him.
