Louisville offense appeals to Newton

The quarterback position has been one of little concern to Louisville fans the past few seasons, but with the ascension of Brian Brohm to the NFL set to culminate this April, shoring up that position for the future is again a hot topic. One junior prospect the Cardinals are targeting at the position is Carmel, Ind., signal caller Morgan Newton.

The 6-4, 205-pound Newton has been a popular name since his sophomore year. This past fall he threw for 1,882 yards and 25 touchdowns and also rushed for 753 yards and 11 more scores. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 71 prospect in the class of 2009 and he has an offer sheet that backs those accolades up.
