UGA commit is headed for San Antonio

The invites are starting to go out and one of few already selected for the prestigious Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio next January is UGA commitment Chris Burnette. Burnette, a Rivals250 four-star OL chose to play in this game over another All-American game and he is happy with his choice.

"I was invited to play in the Under-Armor game on March 9 and it happened when I was up at Georgia on a visit," said Burnette. "My mom got a phone call and they were inviting me to play in their All-American game."

"I talked to them about it, and I told them thanks, and that I would consider playing in the game."

Just a week later, the Army All-American which is partnered with Rivals.com selected the 6-foot-4, 285-pound lineman out of Lagrange (Ga.) Troup County to be a part of their game.

"Coach Georgia Brewer (Troup County Defensive Coordinator / former UGA DL) came up to me and he told me I have a decision to make."

"He told me that he got a call and that I had been selected to play in the Army All-American game too. I did not know what to think."

He thought things over, he weighed his options, he looked at the history of each game, and he made his decision less than a week ago.

"I decided to play in the Army game. I have already signed the papers and faxed them back, so I am set to go to San Antonio," Burnette said with excitement.

Both games will have many talented players involved, but Burnette felt the Army All-American game is the best and that is one reason why he chose to play in that one.

"That game has been going on for almost a decade now and it is the most prestigious game out there like this. It will have the best players in the nation there and those things helped me gravitate towards this one over the other one. I feel I will really get to test my skills against some of the best in this game and I am excited about it."
