Another impressive offer for Texas OL
What you want can change as new options arise. For that reason, what Kyle Clark wants is being put to the test. Though the Denton (Texas) Guyer offensive tackle has not committed to Texas Tech, the Red Raiders have sat high on his list since they offered in mid-February. However since then, the four-star has received offers from some national powers, the most recent of which made quite an impression.
On Friday at school, Clark received some good news from the defending national champions when a letter from the LSU coaching staff arrived issuing an official offer.
"I found out yesterday during lunch," Clark said. "My coach texted me and said I think you've got a pretty important letter in here. He was joking and said I think it has something to do with the Tigers."
Clark received an offer that he was hoping for when Arizona handed one out. He recently was moved to consider Nebraska when the Cornhuskers threw their hat in the ring. But the offer from LSU made a big statement to the 6-foot-5 270-pounder.
"I was just real excited," he said. "I like (Texas) Tech and they're one of my top schools but it can't get any higher than LSU. They're the number one school in the country. Having the number one school in the country like you is pretty big. It's exciting. I'm kind of overwhelmed by that, by how fast things are going."
Though Clark hopes to learn more about the program, he already has a comfort level with one current Tiger.
"I've watched a lot of their games," he said. "Herman Johnson, their left guard up there was all conference and he went to our rival school. My older brother actually played scout team against him in high school. I've met him and know that he likes it and thinks he made a good decision. Everything I've heard has been positive."
Clark will continue to investigate all of his options, even as they are rapidly increasing.
