Wilson receives Badger offer

Last time BadgerBlitz.com spoke with Duwyce Wilson, he felt he was close to receiving a scholarship offer from the University of Wisconsin.

As expected, the news became official over the weekend, as the Columbus (IN) East star received an official scholarship offer from Bret Bielema and the Wisconsin Badgers.

"Yeah, I have an official offer from Wisconsin," Wilson said. "After the last time we talked, I sent my transcripts over to the coaches. They called my high school coach back and said I have an offer."

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound wide receiver now joins Keenan Davis, James Jackson, Je'Ron Stokes and Brad McDougald as known wide outs in the 2009 class that have UW offers.

Wisconsin signed just one wide receiver in the 2008 class, T.J. Williams from Kenosha, Wis.

"Actually, I haven't spoke to any of the coaches yet," Wilson added. "I'm supposed to call them. I have a few times but have only received their voicemails. I'm been pretty busy with track, though."

This past weekend, Wilson was at the University of Kentucky to take in their junior day festivities and get a closer look at the Wildcat program.

During his junior season, Wilson reported he caught 49 passes for 947 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Badgers currently have three verbal commitments in the 2009 class: Jordan Kohout, Shelby Harris and Ryan Groy.
