Swope excels at more than just football

Austin Westlake athlete Ryan Swope has already proven himself on the gridiron. As a junior this past season, he was named the District 25-5A Offensive MVP after rushing for 1,311 yards and 14 touchdowns and adding another 521 yards and seven touchdowns receiving.

However, the 6-foot-1, 197 pound Texas A&M commit is showing this spring that his athletic prowess is not limited to the football field. He was been one of the top performers in the state in track and field as well.

"Yes sir, we had our district meet last week - Wednesday and Thursday," said Swope. "We, our team, won district and I ended up with four gold medals in 4 by 100, long jump, 100 and 200. I was happy with my times."
