A&M looking at possible late addition for '08

With National Signing Day for the class of 2008 long since passed, colleges have all turned their attention to recruiting high school juniors to fill out the class of 2009.

However, there are still a few unsigned seniors that slipped through the cracks for one reason or another that are looking for a college home. One such player is East Orange (N.J.) athlete Akeem Cunningham.

"I was busy with football and basketball every weekend and I just never took the SAT," said the 5-foot-10, 185 pound senior. "Colleges would come in and say they wanted to offer but when they found out that I hadn't taken the test, they would say they couldn't wait."

However, Cunningham recently received his scores. He could come back to haunt the schools that doubted him. There is one out-of-state school that has recently made a strong impression on him.

"I got an 1170 on the SAT," he said. "Now that I've got my SAT scores, a lot of schools are coming in now. But Texas A&M, they've impressed me the most. When I talked to their coach, he was honest with me and just real."
